“Charlie, we accept the love we think we deserve.”

Just finished this book and I couldn’t put it down. It’s been a while since I’ve read a book like that (it’s also been a while since I’ve read a book, period. Or at least one that wasn’t school-related. I’ve been so busy which is perhaps why I bought it a year ago and just now got around to reading it.) Anyways, so good. An instant favorite. At first Charlie irritated me a little. Not much, though, but still. I dunno, some of his abruptness, and he cried a lot, I found that weird….uncomfortable? But (very quickly) I came to love Charlie and his complexities. He was young, just starting high school, innocent and quiet, and I couldn’t wait to watch him mature and grow. And boy did he.

I love Patrick and Sam, and their “chillness”. There are also so many amazing quotes, and there is something for everyone to relate to with this book. Even just certain little things Charlie says, I found myself thinking, I’ve done that or felt like that too.

Something weird though. For whatever reason I always thought Bill wanted to molest Charlie. (A really bad ending note, I know.) Turns out he was just a really kind teacher… Although, having finished the book, it’s a bit… Well. Read the book.

Also, I have every intention of making the playlist Charlie made for Patrick. And, without a doubt, I will love it.
